Dental Veneers
Have you considered veneers as an almost pain-free way to repair your crooked, chipped, stained or misshapen teeth? Constructed out of porcelain to perfectly fit your teeth, porcelain veneers can easily be added to your teeth in as few as two visits.
Say goodbye to a smile you feel self-conscious about! Let the experts at Creek View Dental create custom veneers for you today.
How is a Veneer Created?
During a consultation visit, we will ensure that getting a veneer is the best course of action for your desired smile.
At the first appointment for your dental veneer procedure, we start by removing the thin layer of enamel over the area that the veneer will be applied to. To ensure a perfect fit is created, we then take impressions to duplicate the exact shape needed for the veneer.
To ensure the veneer will blend in seamlessly with the rest of your teeth, a colour guide and/or a custom shade appointment is used to match your teeth colour to the veneer.
Since it takes a little bit of time for a dental lab to create your final veneer, a temporary veneer is used to cover your prepared teeth.
At your second appointment, your final veneer will be ready to be bonded into place in your mouth.
Additional appointments may be needed for adjustments if you are not happy with the initial fit.
What are the Benefits of Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers created by a cosmetic dentist are used for a variety of reasons, including:
- Correcting discolouration that won't respond to professional tooth whitening treatments
- Improving the shape of chipped, cracked and crooked teeth
- Eliminating gaps between teeth
Not only does a veneer improve the appearance of your smile, but it improves your self-confidence too!
Extending the Lifetime of Your Veneers
We at Creek View Dental want your porcelain veneers to last as long as possible!
At your final veneer appointment, we will review what you can do to help extend your veneers' lifetime. Our dental team will review tips such as avoiding grinding your teeth and practicing excellent oral hygiene. While porcelain veneers resist staining, they will still stain just like your natural teeth if they are not given the proper care.
Other dental veneer care tips include:
- Limit or avoid foods and drinks that cause stains such as tea, coffee, soda, soy sauce and red wine
- Quit smoking - as this bad habit will stain your dental veneers
- Protect your dental veneers and natural teeth with a mouthguard while playing sports
- To avoid chipping your dental veneers, don't chew on hard foods, or objects such as ice, pens, nails or bones
- Avoid toothpaste with abrasive ingredients such as baking soda
- Use a soft-bristled toothbrush
We will want to see you back regularly to ensure your veneers are holding up as they are designed to. Of course, we are here to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your veneers along the way!
Who is Eligible for Porcelain Veneers?
We have provided dental veneers to thousands of customers of all ages. Many of our patients are happy in how it corrects so many issues with tooth spacing or stained teeth that they might refer to the process as a smile-makeover or instant orthodontics.
Not everyone qualifies for Dental Veneers right away, however. If you have gum disease, oral cancer or tooth decay, these issues will have to be dealt with first before we can proceed with the veneer process.
